We have been lucky in that my sister Julia and No. 1 niece Kate have joined us for a couple of weeks while we explore Thailand. This has been great in that four of us rather than two which often makes things easier!!
Here's some pictures of our week in Bangkok. It's a large, great place of which we hardly scratched the surface. We started with a fair bit of admin as we have only a 14 day visa for Thailand - which needed extending. Queue a day standing in queues and filling in forms... Oh well.... Didn't take any pictures of that but here's some other nice ones:-
This is the royal palace
Wat Arun - across the river
A Giant swing - aparently unused since the 1930's
Detail on a golden pagoda
A Golden pagoda
We went to a pupett show - here's my sister with a puppet and it's handlers!
Here's My sister advising the ferryboat captain on route selection! - a bargain at 30p a ticket.
And here she is being a tourist!
No 1 niece at Wat Arun
And climbing down it!
And at the puppet show
These two are of the lantern festival where Thai's float lights down any available waterways to celebrate the end of the rainy season.
A nice water lily - with insects!
