More before we leave Hanoi

We are leaving Hanoi in a couple of hours having spent five days here, two when we first arrived in Vietnam and three on our return from Ha Long bay and Cat Ba island. A wonderful city with people who have really made our stay.
The Hanoi couch surfing fraternity, led by out host Mike have really helped us out, not only with walking us around the city but also with recommendations for food and fun, we really liked the duck restaurant, their sausage was some of the best we have ever tasted.

A snapshot of Hanoi. Some pics that amused me!:-
Free range chicken Hanoi style!

Hanoi has a robust approach to electrical wiring!

And an even more robust one to propane delivery!

Short skirts mean side saddle riding... Also note the helmet worn by the driver, It has a special rear notch to allow for a ponytail hairstyle!

Hanoi's table deliver service

Balloon Delivery

Popcorn and nut selling

Our guides..... not that they needed the map!

College graduation photos.... OK , so who thinks they could have successfully organised their own University cohort to do this!

I just liked the juxtaposition here.

We are heading south now, we've got an open stop ticket to Saigon and expect to take about 10 days to a fortnight to get there stopping at a few interesting places en route.... Hopefully We'll write about it as we go..

  1. What a magnificent experience of Hanoi - aren't you going too quickly? You have a whole half a year!! Is Leez scheduling?

Don't stop sharing though, 'tis really divine to live vicariously through your journey :-)
